Note That All English Blogs Will Be Written In Red! The Blue Are My Personal Blogs!
Excuse me! Hello, I'm sorry for bothering you however those workers dropped a box off on my doorstep. Apparently, they're behind schedule and the items that the owner is planning to store in the warehouse are already delivered. I asked if I could borrow one to pass the time and they gave me this. Do you want to look at it too? Yes? Wonderful!
Let's see what's inside. Oh, they're reflective blogs! I wonder who wrote these and what their assignments are for. Since I have to make lunch, do you want to dig into these? Time will fly if you do. I'll give you a hint since you're already picking up stacks: try to find the earliest date. Maybe those assignments will make sense in order or maybe they won't have anything to do with each other. Have fun!
Today, on August 30th, my entire English class and I listen and view a video that animates the words of Taylor Mali's poem "Totally Like You Know."
http://vimeo.com/3829682
We all laugh when Mr. Mali's sarcastic inserts create a humorous phrase instead of what should embarrass the younger generations. We nod our heads in agreement whenever Mr. Mali speaks of opinions that ring true in our own. However, the question that echos in more then a few of my classmates' minds, as well as my own, resonates past the barriers of a classroom. How can the younger generations fall so far in respect to our spoken language?
There's always a cause that forms an effect. Where is the cause for this issue? Maybe the blame rests in Facebook, texting, or even sagging pants and short skirts. There's also the possibility that these are all to blame. However, the more important issue actually resides with fixing the damage.
Some wish that there is an existing list of a step-by-step process that will change the viewpoints of everyone in a moment of epiphany. This will come to pass when pigs can fly. Only when those affected want to experience the other side will any change occur. Children have to see the good this will do - they have to understand - and we have to make this difficult process worth the hard work.
We may have to give them recognition of some sort, make the entire process exciting, or even pop their ignorant bubble. However in short, we have to do something; we can't just stand by and think someone else will do what needs to be done. Stand up and take action. For the future of the English language is in jeopardy and because sitting, doing nothing is what caused this. There - now you have the cause of the problem. Now you know what to blame.
Sorry to interrupt but I just wanted to let you know that lunch is ready. Oh my, you got through a lot of those haven't you! Why don't you go eat and I'll ask the workers if they can bring more boxes for us. No, no don't worry - I'm also bringing some lemonade to them so this isn't a bother. I hope you like my homemade casserole.
By the way, I replaced the TV and there's something on there that you might like. Why don't you watch the television while you eat? Just don't make a mess!

Time To Leap Into The Dragon's Cave... With The Dragon Still In It
Oh, there you are! Did you enjoy the room? Was everything okay? Come on in to the kitchen and have some breakfast. Also, don't worry about paying - this isn't a hotel and you're a guest. I won't take refusal as an answer.
I know the food's simple but I just woke up myself so it's all I could prepare. To tell you the truth, I think that you being an early bird is a good thing. That way you have more time to go to that odd building. I should let you know that it does get dark earlier around these areas and I don't want you to get lost!
In fact, you should leave now before it gets any later. Here's a lunch that I packed for you. Now, you come back in a few hours and I'll have dinner ready by then. Have a great time exploring!
I could give you all a definition but where's the fun in that?
Every single person in the world has fallen in love with a television show, movie, game, or a book of some genre. Every single person has dreamt or daydreamed of a side-story or a continuation of that original work. Don't deny this - you have at some point.
There are even shows you know of that are fanfics. What about the British television crime drama known as Sherlock (Amazing show, by the way)? Isn't the character Dr. House based off of Sherlock Holmes? How about the movie Star Trek (2009); that wasn't made by Gene Roddenberry himself was it?
Fan fiction is everywhere and people love it. There's your two fun facts for the day.
Why Fan Fictions?
Isn't that a terrible style?
For those who believe the question above to be true, you'd be surprised. Granted, there are quite a few stories on http://www.fanfiction.net/ that do not compare to most published books. However, what about those few that do?
Publishing companies receive hundreds and thousands of manuscripts but very few pass the first cut. The main difference of this process when compared to that of http://www.fanfiction.net/ is that those hundreds of ideas aren't cut out of the picture. Dedicated readers do have to dig for those special stories - some even enjoy the challenge when they start to exhaust the mine. Yet isn't that what editors do every day?
So Now What?
I'm not asking you to go crazy over fanfics, now. All that I'm asking from you is to realize that fan fiction isn't what you think. If you're curious, by all means look into this pop culture phenomenon! Have fun and go look at http://www.fanfiction.net/ (Note: There are other websites with fan fiction but this is one of the bigger ones).
Now that I concluded my short post, you can all go back to watching re-runs of House (heh) and waiting for that new Star Trek movie that's supposed to come out. Have a blast!
Back so early? Dinner isn't done yet so you'll have to wait. I apologize but the television hasn't been fixed yet so there's not much to do. Hopefully, that repair man will get here soon and I'm willing to bet that all he'll tell me is that I have to get a new one. In fact, I should just buy another.
By the way, I changed the radio to something that I think you might like. Once the commercials are done you should listen to it and see if you like this station. If not, all you have to do is change it!

Welcome To My Humble Abode!
To those select few who found their way on to my property, congratulations. You're in the middle of nowhere. Well at the present, anyways. If you decide to stay the night, or a few, then you'll notice that the peaceful and quiet scenery isn't as calm as you first believed. To the left, yes by that small pond over there, those construction workers are building a warehouse for storage. I think one of them said it'll be where English papers stacked on top of rough drafts will be stored. However, over to the right I find mysterious and new, to myself anyways.
Beyond the treeline you'll just make out a large structure. Truthfully, I don't understand how that weird-looking building appeared there. I haven't seen any other workers minus the group to the left. The odd thing is that those builders also have no idea when that was built. I know for a fact it wasn't there a few days ago!
Maybe you'll be able to figure out this mystery if you're staying for a while because you'll find that there's not much to do in my house at the moment. The reason? My television stopped working and the internet connection is almost non-existent here. All you'll have to do here will be to enjoy the fresh air and explore those two buildings. Now, why don't you come inside and enjoy lunch - I'm sure you're starving!
By the way, I do have a radio playing all the time so feel free to change the station! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-kl71Q4M8M&feature=related
